Later, he completed an Executive Master’s in Positive Leadership & Strategy at IE Business School, Madrid—a qualification that speaks volumes about his intentional approach to values-based leadership.

But academic accolades are just the starting point. Okoro’s journey has been one of influence forged through impact, and leadership grounded in character.

Excellence Without Noise

Spanning over 30 years, his professional journey reads like a map of corporate leadership across Africa’s most respected institutions. From serving as Managing Director and Board Member at GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Nigeria Plc, to CEO for Africa at Lucozade Ribena Suntory, and later, CEO of UAC Foods in a strategic joint venture with Tiger Brands of South Africa—Chidi Okoro has led from the front in multiple sectors: pharmaceuticals, personal care, food, retail, and telecommunications.

His earlier career also included a critical period at FrieslandCampina WAMCO, where he pioneered the sachet product concept in Nigeria—a revolutionary move that democratized access to nutrition with Cowbell Milk Sachet, transforming retail consumption models in the FMCG sector.

He later brought his leadership capabilities into the telecoms industry, serving as a General Manager at MTN, further demonstrating his adaptability and strategic foresight across vastly different markets.

Yet, titles have never defined him. Colleagues describe him as calm, focused, and generous with insight. A listener. A quiet strategist. A man who leads not by dominance, but by deliberate action and trust.

Community, Country, and Cause

Beyond boardrooms and brand portfolios, Okoro is deeply invested in community growth and access. As Founder and Executive Consultant of Drugs & Medicaments Nigeria Ltd (D&M), he is reshaping pharmaceutical retail in Nigeria—creating access, affordability, and integrity in an industry often plagued by inequality and inconsistency.

He also served as Chief Transformation Officer at HealthPlus Nigeria, helping stabilize and expand the nation’s largest integrative pharmacy network during a time of critical transition.

His passion for national development led him to contribute as a Board Member of the Ogun State Security Trust Fund, and as Founder of the Southern Business Academy, a non-profit initiative aimed at preparing young professionals for responsible leadership in business and public service.

Teaching the Next Generation

When he is not building businesses or advising multinationals, Okoro is shaping minds. As an Adjunct Faculty Member at Lagos Business School, he teaches strategy and leadership to top-level executives and aspiring entrepreneurs in programs such as the Chief Executive Programme (CEP), Advanced Management Programme (AMP), Senior Management Programme (SMP), and Management Acceleration Programme (MAP).
